Rumor control
are antibiotics effective in preventing or treating covid-19?
No. Antibiotics do not work against viruses, they only work on bacterial infections. COVID-19 is caused by a virus so antibiotics do not work.
Do i need a letter designating me as "essential" in order to travel?
Letters permitting an employee to travel because they are “essential” to the organization is totally unfounded. We realize this rumor is creating fear and havoc across the State of Kansas. It is totally unfounded.
Again, at this time, in Kansas, a letter is not needed. For more information visit the CISA website using the tab below.

Will the use of motrin and ibuprofen worsen coronavirus (COVID-19) disease?
The FDA is aware of news reports stating the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, could worsen coronavirus disease (COVID-19). At this time, FDA is not aware of scientific evidence connecting the use of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen, with worsening COVID-19 symptoms. The agency is investigating this issue further and will communicate publicly when more information is available. To learn more, visit the FDA website using the tab below.
fema rumor control
FEMA created a site to help the public distinguish between rumors and facts regarding the response to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Always go to trusted sources of information to get facts about the federal COVID-19 response.
is there an approved at-home test kit for covid-19?
There are no approved at-home tests nor are there any approved vaccines or drugs to “cure” COVID-19, yet they are being sold online. Several agencies are tackling this misinformation and fraud with websites listing known scams and providing instructions to report them:
