This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. It's easy to forget those we don't see and easy to take for granted the hard and wonderful work they do behind the scenes. As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, the General Public is being bombarded with false information. In order to stop the spread of false information, and hopefully cut down on the influx of worried-well at Kansas healthcare facilities, the "Where to Find What You Need Regarding COVID-19" Fact Sheet was developed. The fact sheet contains a list of credible information sources and was developed with the intent of distribution to the General Public. Please share widely. public health department launches covid-19 testing site in wyandotte county Beginning April 3, 2020, the Unified Government’s Public Health Department (UGPHD) serving Wyandotte County will offer COVID-19 testing at 619 Ann Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66101.
Eligible Wyandotte County residents will be able to schedule a time to drive or walk through for testing. Testing priority will be given to individuals currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Common symptoms include a fever of more than 100° F, shortness of breath, and a dry, unproductive cough. Dr. Erin Corriveau, Deputy Medical Officer for the UGPHD, acknowledged the importance of increased testing for Wyandotte. |
